RARE Productions Art and Healing Studio
RARE Productions has a new space located at 3010 Lake Street East Minneapolis, MN 55406. We are focusing in on Arts and Healing. For Years RARE Productions has supporting artists as they heal themselves and community with the power of art. As the ol' Intermedia Arts slogan goes Art Changes Everything.
This year has been a difficult year for us all and it has been especially hard for those in the arts and entertainment industries. As we all work to rebuilt and reimagine RARE Productions will be focusing of making our newer space more accessible for all. This includes building an ADA compliant bathroom and redesigning entrances. We also envision two studio workers spaces for sound/video production and healing practitioners.
We have been at our new spot since November of 2018 and are working on creating new paths for the work we have always done. Creating platforms for Trans, GNC & Queer BIPOC artists to do their best work. We've been busy learning about our Longfellow Neighborhood as we continue to support artists and change makers. This summer we held held COVID-19 safer maker space for protest art makers and prep for outdoor events the 2020 Pride & Protest demonstration against state violence through our annual Power to the People Stage and the annual BareBones end of October Celebration of Mourning down Lake Street. We also have held space for PPE give away, and will be a space for food distribution, mutual aid, community solutions and response teams.
We know that BIPOC communities endure trauma and that together we can heal. There are many forms of healing and we are so delighted that one of the core members of RARE is training to provide a path for healing to our community. Read more about Anna and her new journey below. You can support RARE in offering space for art and healing through our fiscal sponsor Springboard for the Arts on this page.
