Help keep raptors soaring on Give to the Max day!

$31,597

raised by 212 people

$35,000 goal

Every dollar makes an impact! Your gift is matched up to $30,000!

What’s on your grocery list? Rats, mice, chickens, quail, and fish are what's on the menu at TRC. Here, raptor patients and ambassadors eat more than 4 tons and $50,000 worth of food each year! Making sure we maintain raptor patients’ natural diets while in our care is key to meeting their nutritional needs and helping them recover. But we need your help. Like you, The Raptor Center is experiencing the rising cost of food - raptor food. You can help our hospital feed raptors receiving life-saving care and help them return to the skies where they belong.

Today, every dollar donated will be matched up to $60,000 by a group of raptor heroes. Raptors are apex predators that require incredible strength and need to be in tip top shape in order to survive in the wild. Your gift will help keep their bellies full  for a strong recovery while in the world class care of our clinical staff.

Check out the average cost of feeding different types of raptors,

  • $10 can feed an American kestrel for one week

  • $20 can feed a great horned owl for one week

  • $30 can feed a turkey vulture for one week

  • $40 can feed a bald eagle for one week

  • $100 can feed all four of these raptors for one week!

Want to make an even bigger impact?

Raptors such as broad-winged hawks, osprey, turkey vultures, and others spread their wings each fall and begin their migration south to warmer weather. However, some of our migratory patients aren’t healed and releasable in time to make their migration window before first frost. These patients will spend the Minnesota winter with TRC in the continued care of our rehabilitators until they can be released come springtime.

We anticipate around 25 such patients will be wintering with TRC. You can help supplement the cost of these long term accommodations with a gift that will help sponsor these birds, assuring a safe winter until they are able to soar again. Check out below how much it typically costs TRC to feed and house a bird over various lengths of stay!

  • $250 supports a wintering bird for one month

  • $500 supports a wintering bird for three months

  • $1000 supports a wintering bird until its spring release

Have your gift doubled now and help TRC keep raptors soaring!
