Support our hospital which treats owls, eagles, hawks, and falcons for release to the wild

$20,000 goal

The Raptor Center is devoted to the veterinary care and release of birds of prey (owls, hawks, eagles, falcons, vultures) and to the education of the public about these species and our shared environment. Our unique hospital sees and treats around 1,000 wild birds each year, and our goal is to get them healed and released back to the wild where they belong.

For nearly 50 years, we've collected data on these majestic birds and each clinic patient adds to our understanding of the natural world and how we can protect it for generations to come.

Join us in this mission to save raptors and conserve the environment we all share!

Your support empowers our hospital's vital mission and ensures we continue to:

  • Treat around 1,000 wild raptors each year, releasing them back to the wild where they belong. Your donation allows us to get the food, equipment, and medicine needed for their successful healing and release!
  • Learn from individual patients to drive vital conservation research. We tackle the big questions threatening our world, such as habitat loss, pollutants and toxicants, and emerging wildlife diseases. The data and stories we collect from our hospital fuel conservation research and help us educate others on the environment.
  • Train future wildlife veterinarians and rehabbers who take our mission into the world to protect and conserve our shared environment. Our work extends across borders, as we teach, mentor, and train future leaders in avian conservation worldwide - your help makes this possible!

Join in the fun! Throughout the day, we'll be live streaming free content. Go behind the scenes, experience raptors up close, learn some nerdy trivia, and see what other surprises are in store. On November 18 between 8am and 8pm central, visit our YouTube page and watch the live stream!

And a huge 'thank you' to our generous match donors who are doubling your gifts. The first $60,000 of gifts will be matched thanks to Robert & Susan Wilder, Rachel Hollstadt, the Acorn Charitable Trust, and the Sarah J. Andersen Fund of the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation.

The generosity of your gifts is the reason these majestic birds are flying free

If you have questions about making a gift or would like to speak to someone about giving via check, IRA distribution, donor-advised-fund, or would just like to make your gift over the phone - please call Ellen Orndorf at 612-624-8457.
