$5,000 goal

Every year, The Woman’s Club partners with dozens of nonprofit organizations to support their efforts in creating the community we all want to be part of. Our Give to the Max efforts this year will support Emerson Dual Language School, the oldest Spanish immersion program in Minnesota.

Emerson Dual Language School is a Kindergarten through fifth-grade Spanish Dual Language public school in the Loring Park neighborhood. Students are taught academic content in Spanish and English. Emerson’s goal is for all students to be curious lifelong learners and to develop the skills they need to reach their fullest potential as multilingual global citizens.

Our friends at Emerson asked The Woman’s Club if we could assist them in addressing food insecurity for their young learners and their families. Through the generosity of our donors, The Woman’s Club:

  • Provides an afternoon snack for the 600 students at Emerson every Monday.
  • Donates catered meals for monthly site council and parent empowerment conversations.
  • Contributed breakfast foods and snacks to welcome back the dedicated teachers on their first week of school this fall.
  • Prepared a dinner to welcome back students, new to the U.S., who attended camp in Minnesota for the first time this past summer.

Your donation will allow The Woman’s Club to say yes to Emerson School when they ask for help in their efforts to ensure that their students and families have access to healthy food.

Make a donation of $35 or more before midnight on Give to the Max Day and The Woman’s Club will donate a ticket to our holiday concert — T. Mychael Rambo & Thomasina Petrus Sing Songs of Joy & Hope for the Holidays — to our friends at Emerson School for their students and families to share in the holiday joy.

T. Mychael Rambo & Thomasina Petrus Sing Songs of Joy & Hope for the Holidays will perform at The Woman’s Club on Sunday, December 17, at 4:00 pm.

The Woman’s Club is a community of people who work to enhance the vitality and livability of the city in which our historic building is located. We partner with others to address the immediate needs of individuals and families along with systemic issues facing the city of Minneapolis, prioritizing our Loring Park neighborhood.

“The Woman’s Club has helped Emerson achieve our mission of creating equitable access to bilingual education. By providing catered dinners for our monthly site council and parent empowerment conversations, the Club is supporting culturally sustaining connections to form between school and home that make participation possible for families who may otherwise face barriers.”
