Grace House Homeless Shelter Fundraiser

The Grace House of Itasca County, MN (www.gracehousemn.org) serves the needs of our homeless individuals and families.  On any given day we may find ourselves or someone we love in a homeless situation.  The Grace House is an organization where we can refer others or seek support for ourselves and receive that help.  The Grace House not only provides a safe place to rest but they also offer additional support services to assist the person or family for stability.  Covid-19 has impacted the housing situation of many and it is estimated to increase the number of homeless (Economic Roundtable | Locked Out - economicrt.org). As a way to give back, support our community members, and address the needs of our vulnerable homeless, please consider making a monetary or needed item donation to the Grace House.   

As a way to increase awareness of homelessness, learn more about the Grace House, and give back to our community, the Northern Lights Community School (NLCS) in Warba, MN will be participating in a virtual 'Sleep Out' on Friday, February 26th, 2021.  Leading up to the 'Sleep Out' night the NLCS community will be finding ways to support homelessness.  Some students are creating their own projects around homelessness such as sewing rice hand warmers to donate to the Grace House.  Other students are making beautiful art pieces on what many homeless use for shelter, cardboard.  Please consider joining NLCS in supporting our community, Grace House, and awareness of homelessness.  For further information about the NLCS 'Sleep Out' event, watch for updates on the schools Facebook page or website.
