Raising funds to provide wages for clients through the COVID closure!

$1,520

raised by 24 people

$8,000 goal

Founded in 1979, the Norman County Developmental Activities Center, supports 35 clients in-house, employs 12 staff, and coordinates services for those with disabilities and mental health concerns throughout Norman County and surrounding areas.

Clients at the Norman County DAC are finding their place in the world with support  in employment and life enrichment activities. Services such as job searches, interview skills, job coaching, employment supports, community integration and daily life enrichment activities and therapies, are provided 5 days/week!

The Norman County DAC is funded by governmental reimbursements, and receives funding ONLY when the DAC is in operation and providing the above services. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the DAC has seen very little revenue since its closure on March 19th, and has been unable to financially support our clients, per usual. Clients supported by the DAC have also lost all employment opportunities and have been without wages since services were suspended, and unfortunately, Minnesota statute prevents clients paid through the Norman County DAC from collecting unemployment benefits.

Because our clients have been without wages for months, we are asking for help! All monies raised through this fundraiser will be used to  pay clients the wages they are missing out on.

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated - your donation will ensure the continuity of care for years to come, and will provide a better quality of live for those who receive services.
