As we all struggle with the stay-at-home orders and lock downs, I want to share with you what's now going on in Uganda with our partner communities. There are a number of families really struggling for survival, who literally do not have anything for a meal right now. With the lock-down now extended again, there is no means for a day laborer to earn money to buy food and it is not yet harvest time for those subsistence farmers. The government is distributing food in capital but Tikkun Olam and Buyanga primary School families have no access to food distribution anywhere near them.
We're asking for one more emergency relief donation. There are 135+ families at Tikkun Olam and Buyanga primary schools. For $75, you can help a family survive for one month.
Last month, we were able to reach our $6000 goal for an immediate emergency food relief donation. We couldn’t have done this without all of you.
We were able to feed more than 2000 people for most of the month of April. The recipients from both Buyanga and Tikkun Olam Primary Schools were so grateful. Some of the people most in need do not have cell phones and were thrilled and surprised to see Yoash, Tikkun Olam founder, and Charles, Headmaster at Buyanga, arrive at their homes with food and soap. They were tears of joy and relief. WE ARE NOT DONE! THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE WHO NEED YOUR HELP! Please know your donations were well spent and will be once again.
