Help Us Change the Story for Minnesota’s Youth

Every night, more than 6,000 young people experience homelessness in Minnesota—and that’s likely an undercount. These are kids in our neighborhoods and schools. No community is untouched by this crisis.

Behind every statistic is a young person with a heartbreaking story. Each of these youth has experienced trauma—often compounded by violence, exploitation, or neglect. At The Link, we provide safety, healing, and hope through programs that help youth rebuild their lives and move toward independence.

• Safe Housing & Life Skills: A shelter bed is just the beginning. We teach youth how to care for themselves, return to school, and build independent living skills.
• Passageways Program: For youth targeted by sex traffickers, we offer a safe haven, counseling, and services to help them transition out of “the life.”
• Juvenile Justice Support: Through programs like Youth Connections Center, Marshall Reed Youth Center, and POWER, we help youth take an active role in their success and reduce recidivism. These programs are recognized nationally as models for change.
