The Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN) is a vibrant collaboration of individuals and organizations in the Twin Cities Metro Area working to advance racial equity by transforming the food system. They center Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities most impacted by systemic racism, building collective power and sharing resources to reclaim ownership of the right to grow, sell, access, and eat healthy, culturally-appropriate food.
Since 2021, MFJN has evolved into a living, growing network that carries forward the legacies of the Metro Food Access Network and the Minnesota Food Charter Network, while bringing global food justice principles—like those of the Social Gastronomy Movement—into local practice. This work leads to stronger local food systems, environmental sustainability, community healing, and collective liberation.
ACER serves as MFJN’s fiscal agent, enabling the organization to focus its energy on the vital, community-based work happening on the ground.
