DISMANTLING THE STRUCTURES AND REPAIRING THE DAMAGE OF RACISM IN MINNESOTA
In the wake of the police killing of George Floyd the church bodies leading Minnesota Council of Churches announced a 10-year vision for truth and reparations to be enacted through the Council.
Through the work of Rev. Pamela Ngunjiri and Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs we have developed a robust program of education, training and reparations planning.
This includes "Shifting the Spotlight," which this summer brought Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III to Minnesota to provide pastoral care to BIPOC clergy and a prophetic word to White Christians. Hundreds of Minnesotans received what he had to say to Black, Indigenous and People of Color about stepping into their dreams and what he had to say to White allies about stepping out of the spotlight to support racial justice work.
Our team continues to organize and develop connections in greater Minnesota, planning more events throughout our state in 2024.
