My name is William Okweari, and I am a refugee from South Sudan. Although I have been living in the United States since 1995, my heart is still very burdened for my people in East Africa. Living here, I have shelter, food, health care, education, but I know that my people do not have these things, and it breaks my heart.

I thought to myself, “I do not have to be rich to save the life of a child,” and I began sending whatever funds I could spare to buy medicine for children who were dying, food for those who were hungry, and money to pay tuition for children to be able to go to school. As a result of this desire, Compassion for Children, a 501c3 Christian non-profit was started in 2018 to minister to my people, and through it, I will continue to do whatever I am able to do.

HUNGER-ANEMIA

Above is the picture of the first child Called Abaguti, which compelled me not to wait to be rich.  She was brought from hospital to die at home due to lack of medicine or healthy food. 3 days latter anemia took her life, and she passed away.  from there my story begun........
