2017 Little Mekong Arts & Culture Give to The Max

$550

raised by 13 people

$5,000 goal

In 2017, our Night Market event brought 20,000 people to our district, that's right, 20,000 people!

As an initiative by the Asian Economic Development Association (AEDA), the Little Mekong Night Market launched four years ago as a means of leveraging arts and culture to highlight the district. The Night Market intentionally draws on local artist-led activities, arts & cultural performances, and food & merchandise micro entrepreneurs and district businesses to create an economic and promotional engine that bolsters and elevates the district and to highlight the strengths of the community.

We are extremely excited to continue this work moving into 2018 with the 5TH Anniversary Night Market. In addition we are excited to be launching our Artist-in-Residence pilot program as well as a handful of arts projects and culturally specific programming in the Little Mekong District.

Currently we are gearing up for our next big event the 2018 BOLD NORTH WINTER NIGHT MARKET, Little Mekong's first ever Winter Night Market. It will be a wonderful wintery event for individuals and families to come together as a community to celebrate Minnesota's bold winters with delicious cultured food, local winter art activities and performances. Stay up to date by clicking: https://www.facebook.com/LittleMekong/

Donate today!!!! If everyone who attended the 2017 Night Market donated one dollar, we would raise $20,000. That means more dollars staying in our local economy and more arts and cultural programming in the Little Mekong District.

An initiative of the Asian Economic Development Association (AEDA), Little Mekong’s mission is to develop the area around University Avenue and Western as an attractive destination for visitors and residents; to support and promote businesses during and after light rail construction; to share cultural traditions and activities; and to create a living, breathing, colorful district for all to enjoy.

Little Mekong Night Market

Southeast Asian cities are known for their sprawling, lavish night markets. Unlike day markets, night markets are a time to relax and wonder the stalls looking for good food, fresh produce and unique merchandise. Currently, the Asian Economic Development Association (AEDA) is working to bring this unique experience to Little Mekong.  Starting in the spring of 2014, the Little Mekong Night Market will feature local restaurants, fresh produce and plants, artisan crafts and other merchandise along with arts and entertainment for the whole family.  A donation to Little Mekong will help support the planning and implemention of this unique and exciting project.
