Safekeeping: Two Rivers works to get income-qualified owners into homes with no more than 30% of gross monthly income going to the house payment. We do this because we want our owners on solid footing and to be successful in the homeownership, building wealth with their equity and leaving only when ready on their terms. The pandemic this year has put some of our owners positions of financial difficulty as a high number of our owners work in industries hit hard by the pandemic. A survey of owners this past spring indicates that about 40% of our owners worry that their financial situation will be less favorable in the next 12-18 months. Two Rivers, as part of its goals and its strategic plan, supports owners with education, information and resources - until now. The Board, concerned about the impact to owners and their ability to stay in their homes, examined ways to step up support with owners. The initiative is SAFEKEEPING. Recognizing that support for owners does not come in a one size fits all, a menu of options have been established. Support ranges from temporary assistance with house payments to support with emergency repairs and many options in between. Two Rivers has reallocated some funds from the 2020 budget as seed funds but has established this fundraising event as our funds are a drop in the bucket of what we believe will be high need. We hope that you will give this fundraising event consideration with your generous donation. Thank you - Sherry Timmermann Goodpaster - Executive Director.
