Golden Ticket Magic for MTL!

Update posted 5 years ago

It's Magic!

Nikki Bloomfield, your donation yesterday was selected for the golden ticket!

Thanks to your support, the Bush Foundation is awarding MTL a grant for an additional $250!

We've been blessed to be able to continue to serve our community through this global pandemic—but MTL's already slim annual budget isn't immune to the financial trauma of COVID-19.

  • Spring and summer are our busiest months, and social distancing means we won't be able to leverage our usual revenue streams—classes, tool sales, sponsorship, late fees, membership, and events. Just about every part of our budget is impacted.
  • At the same time as our revenue is down, we have additional costs from new health and safety measures, and increased demand on our inventory as members find time to tackle even more projects while at home.
  • Membership accounts for 60-80% of our annual budget;  April, May, and June is when we process the majority of our new members and renewals. With our outreach season effectively cancelled, and many of our members feeling a financial pinch personally, we expect significantly lower membership revenue and an increase in scholarship requests.

If you're able, we'd appreciate your financial  support.  Your gift will ensure that the Minnesota Tool Library can continue to maintain a solid financial foundation, and will help us further leverage our network to create more resilient communities in a post-COVID world!

We've already  been hard at work providing critical PPE through our #FaceMasks4FirstResponders campaign. Any additional funds we are able to raise will help expand  this initiative and develop future programming to create more resilient communities—through sustainable living, local economic development, and stable housing.
