Online Programs

Update posted 5 years ago

Did you know that we are offering online programs during the pandemic? All welcome.

Due to COVID-19,  our yoga and meditation offerings in Hennepin and Ramsey County jails are temporarily suspended. This past week, the staff at Hennepin County Jail expressed concern about the lack of programming available, and staff at the jail turned to KCMN for help.
Immediately, our team of dedicated teachers got to work creating resources for the people incarcerated there. The staff knows that our programs make a difference. We're busy getting things in order so we can get right back to our students once it's safe to do so.
Your gift helps ensure that these research-based approaches to stress-management are available to people facing incredible personal challenges. It's not just the practice that makes a difference, but the simple support from a trauma-informed teacher who engages with our students as a complete person and not just an inmate.
Your contribution allows us to provide these programs to jails at no cost. It helps us create trainings for yoga instructors who want to share their knowledge in an appropriate and powerful way. During this time where we're unable to serve students directly, our organization is being proactive in pursuing additional training, evaluating other potential communities we could serve related to our mission, and holding online opportunities for connection and meditation open to all every week.
We recognize there is a lot of need in the world and humbly request that you support our organization. We believe our services are essential. If we were a huge organization, we could meet the needs of our students through technology much like we're doing for the community at large outside of the jails. Your support ensures we can be there to resume service immediately upon receiving the go-ahead.
