We're making good progress on our Cycling Without Age project! If you want to see for yourself how this can affect people and make their day, see this video of a similar program:

PioneerCare is joining forces with Pedal Fergus Falls to bring the joy of cycling back for older adults.

By purchasing a trishaw, a three wheeled cycle with room for a driver and comfortable seating for two passengers, PioneerCare can provide rides for residents of the Care Center, Pioneer Cottages, and Pioneer Pointe.

Members of Pedal Fergus Falls, the local bicycle advocacy group, will serve as the primary volunteer base. Together, PioneerCare and Pedal Fergus Falls will establish a Cycling Without Age affiliate to create a lasting structure for the program. Cycling Without Age is an international organization that provides a network of support and training expertise.

The Project’s Key Benefits:

  • Creates new and meaningful outdoor recreational opportunities for older adults, improving quality of life.
  • Creates and builds intergenerational bonds between volunteers and older adults, allowing time to build trust and share stories.
  • Leads an effort in our community to make cycling activity accessible to older adults and people with varying abilities.

Fundraising Goal:

With $15,000 raised, PioneerCare will be able to purchase a trishaw with electric assist, along with related supplies and equipment. We invite you to join us in this exciting project by contributing a cash donation today.
