Esther & Raheem's Story...

Prenatal visits were going well for Esther and Raheem but they were worried because, in the past, Esther delivered a stillborn baby.  Raheem was working full time but was laid off due to COVID-19.  Esther was working until she was forced on bedrest due to many medical complications.  Their bills began to pile up. A few weeks later, Angel was born at 24 weeks weighing only 2 pounds 3 ounces.  She was critically ill and required an extended stay in the NICU.  Miraculously, Angel continued to heal and grow until she was allowed to go home. Esther’s medical complications eventually stabilized and Raheem was able to find some part time work.  With your donations and support, CoH was able to provide a portable crib, a baby shower basket, and rent assistance.

Rent Assistance for 2 Families:  $1,000

We provide financial assistance, including rent assistance, to pregnant women and moms with babies who are facing a crisis related to the pregnancy or birth of their baby.  With CoH’s support, family homelessness and evictions are prevented, stress is alleviated, and families have a home to raise their babies.

Safe Sleep for 10 Babies: $1,000 Needed

Each year 3,700 babies die from sleep related deaths.  To prevent this, we distribute CoH Lullaby Cribs, crib sheets, sleepsacks, and provide safe sleep education.  In one day, we received 10 applications for portable cribs from families who can't afford a safe place for their babies to sleep.  We distribute 200 portable cribs each month.

Any amount will help!
