I have been an HSCV supporter for 12 years and on the HSCV Board for the past 5 years. I was able to visit Vietnam in 2017 with my son and see firsthand the good that this organization is doing for children and families in Northern Vietnam. We visited the Blossom House several times during our visit and it was amazing to hear the stories of the girls who came to the home with little hope and to see them thriving under the care that the Blossom House provides. Read on for more information about the Blossom House and feel free to reach out to me with any questions at maria.durnbaugh@hscv.org or check out https://www.hscv.org/blossom-house.
For 10 years the Blossom House for girls in Hanoi Vietnam has been providing a safe and healing space for girls coming from unsafe living conditions.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our dedicated staff have been working overtime helping our girls cope with the psychological toll social distancing and extended quarantines. School is back in session, but the transition to online learning has been difficult for the whole house.
With the girls spending more hours at home and needing more support than ever, we hired new staff, including a full time Supervisor. Cung, our house mother, unable to travel due to road closures, spent more than 2 months at the Blossom House. She is one of the HSCV heroes! We are fortunate to have such dedicated staff, but without support from donors we will be unable to sustain this high level of care.
Our goal for Give the Max 21 is to raise $10,000 and we have $5,000 in matching funds to help us get there. Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar and will help ensure our doors continue to be open for girls in need. Become a part of #TheBlossomHouse with your generous gift today!
