Give to the Max Day is November 17th! We hope that all of you will reach into your pockets and donate to Green Acres Animal Rescue. We need a building in order to make a true impact on our mission of saving animals in need.
It takes $7.00 a day to care for a kitten in need - that is $49.00 a week and the average litter of kittens is 5 or more. That is $175.00 for a litter of kittens without the full cost of vet care included. This past year we have taken in over 150 kittens and cats and had close to the same in adoptions. We currently have 50 kittens and cats that we are caring for which totals $2450.00 a week to care for all of them. The average length of time we have a kitten in the shelter is 6 -8 weeks. So, the average cost for a kitten before adoption is $392.00 for 8 weeks. Our adoption fees are $200.00. As you can see, this is not a profit making industry; we do this because we care about the animals and want to help ensure they are spayed/neutered so they can't produce more animals in need.
Without donations this is extremely hard to do. We are currently limited to the amount of animals we can care for so we need generous donations toward a building where we would be able to grow the shelter and continue helping our community taking stray, abandoned, unwanted, and surrendered animals. We also haven't been able to begin caring for dogs which is something we want to be able to as soon as possible and that means a building.
Please consider a sizeable donation toward our needs - your generosity will go toward helping our furry friends!
