Teams from the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) have been photographing manuscript collections across Europe, Ethiopia, the Middle East, and south India for nearly 50 years. We are the world's leader in the photographic preservation of manuscripts. We are based in Minnesota.
Mission: To preserve humanity’s historic written cultures against loss or danger.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving endangered manuscripts, which are an integral part of cultural history.
HMML has created and archived images of more than 40 million manuscript pages from over 120,000 volumes found in more than 450 collections worldwide.
Donations fuel HMML's digitization, archiving and cataloging of endangered manuscript collections, and help us make these digitized materials freely available to users throughout the world. Learn more about supporting our mission at www.hmml.org.
HMML is also home of The Saint John's Bible, the first handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine Abbey in more than 500 years. Learn more at www.saintjohnsbible.org.
