I am raising money to purchase materials to build homes.
Habitat volunteers and the family which will own a home provide most of the labor. However, the cost of the materials and professional labor (for example, pouring the concrete slab) to build one three bedroom home is $84,000!
Habitat builds 4 - 5 homes in North St. Louis County each year. That's a lot of money to raise each year for building materials!
Homeowners finance their homes with zero percent mortgages from Habitat, and typically pay their loans over 30 years. The payments Habitat is receiving from current homeowners over one year cover for the cost of building one home. What a great idea!
I am raising funds to purchase materials for the remaining homes.
Each family has a story. The outcomes for families living in safe and affordable homes are substantially improved. Habitat is making a difference!
