Rural hospitals have long struggled to provide adequate emergency care. Not only do they face problems in recruiting and retaining experienced staff, they must also provide expensive, ongoing training in a wide range of specialized emergency topics.
The CALS (Comprehensive Advanced Life Support) Program was founded in 1993 in response to this serious problem. CALS courses offer students individualized attention with instructors and
intensive, hands-on training.
We invite you to support CALS on Give to the Max Day on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, to give a do-nation toward purchasing an ultrasound, as well as infant and pediatric mannequins to help teach rural infant and pediatric resuscitation. These items will allow CALS students in rural communities to practice essential life-saving emergency techniques.
