May 12 straight-line winds damaged homes throughout a large swath of Todd County, and a Memorial Day EF-1 tornado tore through Eagle Bend, leaving a path of destruction affecting everything from grain bins to downtown businesses. The tornado also roared through Eagle Valley, Germania, Moran and Staples townships, damaging more than 70 agricultural buildings and dozens of homes. The total damage estimate in Eagle Bend alone is $250,000.
