Find Your Power’s mission is to connect women who have survived abuse with access to life-sustaining resources and each other to facilitate deep, meaningful connections and support women to fulfill their highest potential.
Over the past two years, we have been hard at work conducting research on how to best serve immigrant women and/or survivors of abuse in the Twin Cities area. We have been honored to conduct research in partnership with Pillsbury United Communities Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project, African Immigrant Services, and 360 Communities. These organizations, like Find Your Power, serve immigrant women, some experiencing abuse. We asked women about useful services and hardships they’ve encountered, and used our findings to deliver a workshop series focused on self-worth to women receiving services at places like Haven Housing (Ascension House, St. Anne’s Place, Next Step Housing), Tubman, and Asian Women United.
The COVID-19 outbreak temporarily suspended our in-person programming. We hope to continue our important work there soon, as the need is great. In the meantime, we set our sights on transitioning our workshops to an easily-accessible online format. With your support, Find Your Power will continue to expand access to life-sustaining resources to underrepresented women, by further developing the Self-Worth Workshop Series online for greater reach, building a donor database, carrying out social media and marketing plans, and building our resource library website.
