We have one big goal for 2023:
Raise enough funds to hire a Marketing Manager!
WHAT WE NEED
Currently we operate with a staff of two very dedicated individuals, Victoria Carpenter and Matthew Berg. We are determined to bring more wonderful people to the team starting with a Marketing Manager.
Your donations are an integral part to our ability to grow!
Other exciting goals for our upcoming 2023 season include:
- Securing a partner for rural showings in 2023
- Collaborating with other folks and orgs to find who our allies are to build community with for years to come
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to remove barriers to access Queer film!
We believe quality representation should be accessible for all and that financial means should never keep filmmakers from submitting their films or audience members from participating in our programming. Subsidized free tickets, passes, and submissions fees, for those in need of financial assistance, are built into our budget and supported by donations made through our fiscal sponsorship with Springboard for the Arts.
WHAT WE DO
Flip the Script celebrates Queer film! This looks like:
- Flip the Script Fest, our annual 3–day Queer film festival in October that celebrates Queer stories from 2SLGBTQIA+ filmmakers all over the globe.
- Pride month programming - we have exciting, new events and community partners to celebrate during pride month this year!
- Queer Gaze, our new monthly film series presented every second Sunday at Emagine Willow Creek where we screen new favorites, cult classics, and hidden gems!
- NEW in 2023! Rural showings of Queer films!
WHY WE DO IT
Who and what we see on screen affects our community, the entertainment industry, and even legislation. Too often in film, Queer folks are seen in tragic or powerless situations. We’re working to flip that narrative by showcasing stories that inspire individuals to envision themselves and the Queer community without restrictions.
