A call to action as Hurricane Fiona poured more rain on Puerto Rico Monday, a day after the storm left most of the island without electricity and drinking water.
EL FONDO BORICUA EMERGENCY RELIEF
El Fondo Boricua has continued to assist grants to vetted non-profit organizations and projects assisting the island of Puerto Rico’s emergency relief efforts since the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in September 2017 and the severe earthquakes of January 7th, 2020.
The island of Puerto Rico is now battling Hurricane Fiona as of September 18th, 2022 on the 5th year anniversary of the devastating Level 5 Hurricane Maria of 2017.
El Fondo Boricua will be directing grants to further assist emergency aid working with local organizations and their continued projects on the island to help Puerto Rico.
Our community of Minnesotans have reached out on how to assist on going efforts in Puerto Rico and El Fondo Boricua is fundraising to continue to aid emergency preparedness and overall disaster relief in rebuilding Puerto Rico and helping Puerto Ricans on the island with basic essentials, medical aid, educational resources, solar lamps, water filters, and other projects focused on emergency relief.
Please rest assured that contributions made to El Fondo Boricua at the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation will be sent to Non-profits working on the Island vetted by Foundations.

HURRICANE MARIA PAST EFFORTS (SEPT. 2017)
El Fondo Boricua a fund of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation is fundraising to assist victims of the recent hurricanes Irma and Maria that have left our island devastated this September of 2017. Funds donated to El Fondo Boricua are collected and distributed by the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, which will be granted to non-profits aiding hurricane relief and redevelopment of homes and health services to communities in Puerto Rico. El Fondo Boricua has been able to grant since October of 2017 to Taller Salud, La Goyco, University of MN Medical School Puerto Rico Outreach Fund, El Grito de Sunset Park ( Morovis, Aguadilla, Isabela, Orocovis, Morovis, Caguas, Villalba, Naranjito, Loiza, Lloren Torres), Villa Del Sol-SOL ES VIDA, Rebuild Comerio /Coco De Oro/ La Maraña Project/ Barrio Las Paloma’s/Las Marías / Rock Steady For Life/Waves 4 Water PR Relief, Defend Puerto Rico, Visit Rico-Agricultural REGROW PR Project, Puerto Rico Solar Project/ Escuela de 4 Elementos Canovanas/ Casa Juan Bosco Orphanages/Boys and Girls Club of Puerto Rico, MN Alliance of Communities for Puerto Rico, Coalition of Boricuas In MN, Centro Cultural Loíza along with other 501c3 vetted organizations working on the island, to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The island of Puerto Rico has been dealing with an economical crisis before the hurricanes hit and it's most important now to educate and help the people of the island during this catastrophe. Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation will distribute all donations made to El Fondo Boricua. Donations will be going directly to assist with, by and for the people of Puerto Rico who are victims of this horrible catastrophe. April 2022. El Fondo Boricua visits LA ESCUELA DE 4 ELEMENTOS en Canovanas, Puerto Rico. 4 Elementos provides youth programming through multicultural arts, hip-hop dance, sports, and nutrition wellness for Puerto Rican youth throughout the island of Puerto Rico.
