E/D creates provocative and visually stunning performance centered on the female experience.

$3,000 goal

We at E/D strive for boldness, to make the big choices. E/D work is challenging and layered. It pushes the boundaries of expectation, because we’re interested in paving new pathways, in living and making in the fullness of who we are as women and human beings. We make this work as honestly as possible, right from our experience and guts. It’s going to get messy. It’s going to get loud. It’s going to get vulnerable and exposed. Just like life. And we like it that way.

For us, making performance is an outlet and a reflection. It is an escape and a sanctuary. It saves us. It heals us. And when you come to an E/D show, we hope you feel some of the same. We pour our hearts and souls into our work in the hopes that it fills you with excitement, validation, power, and so much YES.

Today, we hope that you'll support E/D and help us make our theatrical comeback, finally share this vibrant work that’s been three years in the making, and even start traversing into the next project on the E/D horizon.

Thank you for being a part of the E/D family. You are essential to us.

With love and gratitude,

E/D is the collaboration of Emily Michaels King and Debra Berger that creates provocative and visually stunning performance centered on the female experience. E/D is by women for everyone.

Emily and Debra are entering their eighth year of artistic partnership, in which they create contemporary performances and events. Combining theater, movement and design, Emily and Debra’s work is marked by unconventional storytelling, dynamic visuals and feminist themes. Their pieces are abstract, nostalgic, bold, and unforgettable.

E/D is best known for their critically acclaimed shows LEWIS/CLARK (2016) and ANIMUS (2018). A stunning multimedia performance created in collaboration with filmmaker Amber Johnson, ANIMUS was described as “...one of the most uniquely beautiful and chillingly disturbing pieces of art I've seen.” - Cherry & Spoon.  After having cancelled the 2020 AND 2021 run of THE SHOW due to the Covid-19 pandemic, E/D is looking to the future for a remount of THE SHOW in the Fall of 2022.
