Thank you for your Support of HoneyWorks as we embark on our next Season!

As a young, project-based dance company, we are eager to share more live performances with you in our 2022-23 season,. Notably, HoneyWorks, with fellow Twin Cities dance company Hatch Dance, premiered the dance film, bolberobolero as a virtual event in January, 2021. Shot and produced by Noble, the film was a documentation of our live performance of bolerobolero, which premiered September 2020. In March, HoneyWorks artistic director and choreographer, Berit Ahlgren, premiered Give Ear at the Cowles Center as part of their “Merges in March” program. A collaboration with actor Nathan Keepers (The Moving Company), we pivoted our live performance (March 2020) to a documentary film that looked back at the impact the Pandemic had on our original work. Over the summer, HoneyWorks presented Flight at Arena Dance’s Candy Box Festival, developed the first phase of new work Farm/Table (2022) with Luverne Seifert of Sod House Theater, and once again teamed up with Hatch Dance to develop LDV, which premiered at our second production of Live @ The Shed this past August. With the support of the Minnesota State Arts Board and Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, Hatch Dance and HoneyWorks employed 30 artists, and performed for over 400 audience members over the course of 4 performances. Last fall, Ahlgren teamed up with Randy Reyes to support the development of his theater/dance production Essential (2022), a look at the act of love through experiences of loss, separation and isolation.

To start off 2022, HoneyWorks, with Hatch Dance and Noble, premiered LDV (the film) at the A-Mill Artist Lofts. In February, Ahlgren taught on behalf of HoneyWorks at the Arena’s Moving Practice. Throughout the spring, Ahlgren  developmed Farm with Sod House Theater, with performances in Northfield, Princeton and Little Falls. Over the summer, HoneyWorks will be hard at work to once again co-produce Live @ The Shed with Hatch Dance, now in its third year. Come September, Ahlgren, along with a small handful of HoneyWorks artists, will develop with Ashwini Ramaswamy, BRKFT, and Alanna Morris for the premiere of Invisible Cities (Jan 2023), Ramaswamy’s latest production co-sponsored by The Great Northern Festival, Northrop, and the Cowles Center. HoneyWorks is one of the featured artists for Arena Dances Candy Box Festival in April 2023, and a guest artist for the Southern Theater's 2022-23 season, with performances early June 2023. More performances, classes, and events in the yet to be announced, please stay tuned by joining our mailing list Here

Thank you for your generous support as HoneyWorks continues to build new and compelling work through collaboration with a rich base of artists and organizations here in the Twin Cities.
