Doing It Together: Help New Voices Be Heard
Everyone has a story to tell. Your support helps people with disabilities bring their ideas, experiences, and imagination to life through animation and filmmaking.
Our Next Goal: $5,000 to Help More Voices Be Heard
Our next workshop begins in November 2026 and is expected to run through January 2027, with another planned for February.
We’re raising $5,000 to strengthen these workshops and help us reach more participants. Your gift supports teaching artists, creative tools and materials, and the individual guidance that helps each storyteller bring their ideas to life.
Together, we can expand opportunities for more people to create, connect, and share their voices.
What We Do
Diverse Voices Through Animation brings people together to create films and share stories in their own voices. Our workshops began with individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome, and we’re working toward opportunities for people with a wider range of disabilities to take part.
Our workshops offer a supportive space to explore storytelling, character design, drawing, voice recording, and animation. Participants develop their ideas, learn new skills, and collaborate to bring their stories to the screen.
We make room for different ways of communicating and creating, helping each person find an approach that works for them.
Why It Matters
People with disabilities are often left out of mainstream storytelling. Diverse Voices creates opportunities for participants to shape their own stories and share what matters to them.
Creating together builds confidence, connection, and community. Sharing the finished films gives audiences a chance to encounter new perspectives—and get to know the people behind them.
See What We’ve Created Together
Featured Film: Two Champions
Two Champions is an animated short created by participants in our first workshop. It follows an unlikely partnership between a boxing champion and a Magic: The Gathering master, both living with Prader-Willi syndrome, as they team up to sharpen their focus and launch something unexpected together.
With humor, heart, and imagination, the film introduces two distinct personalities whose lives and interests extend far beyond a diagnosis.
