First donation handed to a detention center in CDMX
Thanks to your support we were able to donate books, board games, footballs and school supplies to the CEIPA detention center in CDMX.
We were handed face masks and went through a health checkpoint at the entrance ran by the national healthcare system.
The kids were very happy to receive new material to work with as well as board games and footballs to keep themselves entertained.

Social distancing is not possible for children in detention. They are at risk of contracting the coronavirus. Throughout Latin America, juvenile detention centers are going on lock-down, removing non-essential staff such as teachers, psychologists, social workers, and volunteers and leaving minimal staff, often only security staff, and barring families from visiting their children. These children are more isolated and at risk of abuse than ever, but still at high risk of contracting COVID-19.

- Working groups to ensure health measures are implemented

- Books, notebooks and board games
- Laptops and Zoom connections for video classes to replace lost schooling
3. Help Families of Youth in Detention
- Cell phones and laptops for video calls with parents
