GIVE TO THE MAX DAY - Saving all the furry friends in our lives!

$1,125

I told my fellow volunteer – this is a ‘hard ask’ year! And it is. Everything is hard right now. We’re all hanging on by a thread and SO mentally over this pandemic thing – but it’s not over with us! Whether you’re a teacher re-learning how to teach; a parent juggling work from home while home-schooling kids; or an essential worker keeping us supplied with food and goods. It’s all just too overwhelming.

As a small non-profit organization, we work on a shoestring budget all the time but the pandemic has tightened all funding. Adoption fees barely cover the cost of food, vaccinations and spay/neuters. Then there are special needs or hard-to-place animals where the food and medical bills mount up as it can take months to find that perfect home. And what if a furry one gets sick?

We recently took in two bonded brothers, Joel and Ethan. They were 6 month old strays with huge personalities, so much character we knew we could find a home for them together. They both got neutered and seemed on the road to being our typical success story. While Ethan recovered just fine, we soon learned that Joel had an underlying bacterial infection that was exacerbated by his surgery. His multiple trips to the ER and vet care left us with a huge bill...and now a huge hole in our hearts – as Joel didn’t make it. His brother Ethan is confused. He’s young, we hope he’ll rebound and find the perfect home. This is the reality of animal rescue – you do what you have to do to give them a chance at a good life, no matter the cost.

Can you help us on Give to the Max day, so that we can keep rescuing the unwanted and giving
