So some of you know that I have been involved for many years with the Hokyoji Zen Practice Community.  My yearly retreats there have been a foundation of my spiritual practice. Hokyoji is now—more than ever—a refuge for all who come here, as so many of us are experiencing the unexpected challenges of a global health crisis.

This global health crisis has had an impact on Hokyoji’s plans and resources.
So far we are doing okay in this first year with the new buildings we completed in December 2019. Still, we have a steep climb to fund our new building loan this year. So we’re happy to announce we received a $5,000 matching grant to help us raise $10,000 this November 19th on Give to the Max Day. Personally, I'm hoping my Facebook friends can help raise $500 (meaning $1000, with the matching contribution from our generous donor) toward that goal.

You do not need to wait until November 19th to donate. Donations are being accepted right now, although if you wait until the 19th your donation will give us access to “Golden Ticket” grants for $500 which are awarded every quarter hour on Give to the Max Day.
