"Cow Tipping Press is our family and friends. Growing through disability rather than just living through it. Will you please Give Save to the Max for cowtippingpress.org? You bloom where you're placed."
Take it from Board Member Ardella and Inclusion Associate Nathan (students, then authors, then teachers, and now our two most senior leaders with intellectual/developmental disabilities). "Leadership by those most impacted," to borrow the disability justice principle, looks different! But there's a role for everyone in building Cow Tipping's interdependent, outside-the-system approach to disability advocacy. You can take on a part of that work with a Give to the Max Day gift.
Here's what your support can fund:
$25 |
braille edition book for a student who requests it |
$50 |
transportation reimbursement for one of our teachers to make it to training and classes |
$75 |
postage to send a semester of books to our subscribers |
$100 |
pay one of our student-turned-teacher Apprentices for a community-based speaking gig (sure beats subminimum wage!) |
$250 |
cost of Zoom for one year so we can share our program with places as far away as Mississippi and Atlanta |
$500 |
ASL interpretation at a big event like the Festival Formerly Known as Cowchella |
$1,500 |
send our new Arts Manager to the national AWP Conference in February to spread the word about our books and mission! |
$1,500 |
one semester of book printing expenses |
$2,000
|
our annual Cow Tipping Prize—a scholarship for an exceptional writer to take 1:1 classes with Unrestricted Interest and publish a chapbook of their own (check out Wild Rides by last year's winner Anthony Hels!) |
$4,000 |
the entire cost of one of our classes—including teacher recruitment, training, and coaching; book publication and release party; and lots and lots of nitty gritty logistics approached with a can-do sense of possibility! |
We are generously matched by a $10,000 Capacity Building Grant through the end of the year and fees are waived on Give to the Max Day proper. Please give yourself and/or share with friends and networks to help us keep growing, blooming, making vague threats, dancing, and most importantly changing the narrative on disability in 2024!
