We ask for your donation to provide holistic supports to students and families during this time.

$10,000 goal

As you know, Governor Walz ordered all public K-12 schools in Minnesota to close in hopes of slowing the spread of COVID-19. As of now, we plan to close schools from Monday, March 16 through Tuesday, April 7.

We continue to have our community’s health and safety as the unquestioned number-one priority and recognize that school closure will have a significant impact on our students and families.

We are asking for your support in order to provide students and families with the necessary resources to manage this crisis.

Your donation will be used to support:

Food - we will continue to provide two meals a day to students.

Childcare - we are providing childcare to parents who are not able to be home with their children during school closure.

Transportation - because most of our families rely on busing services or public transportation, very few are able to get to school to pick up distance learning kits and food. We are making individual trips to support ALL students, especially focusing on creativity on our  special ed students that represent almost 1 out of 3 students.

Communications support and infrastructure - our staff has been working around the clock to make sure we have accurate and up to date phone numbers, emails and addresses.

Technology access and education materials - ideally, we would like to bring our device ratio up to 1:1 at $250 per device. We need approximately 100 more devices.

Thank you for your support of KIPP Minnesota during this uncertain time. Now, more than ever, our KIPPsters need constancy. We are so grateful for the work that is already being done by so many of you and others in our school community to provide that for our students.

Together we are stronger.
