Where Your Giving Goes

In the wake of COVID-19, economic stress and recent civil injustices, ConnectedMN’s goal is to bring tech devices and internet access to students across the state, especially communities most in need, including Indigenous students and students of color, students from low-income families, and families residing in rural Minnesota.*

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) estimates that at least 25,000 Minnesota students still lack the tech devices and high-speed internet access essential for academic learning, out-of-school activities and critical services such as telehealth.

Partnership for a ConnectedMN aims to supply students with tech devices and solutions for internet connectivity before the start of the upcoming school year. The goal is for students to have the tools necessary to connect and engage around school, physical and mental health and future career pathways.

About Partnership for a ConnectedMN
Partnership for a Connected Minnesota is a public-private partnership that is aiming to raise funds from corporate, philanthropic and individual donors to ensure that students from disinvested communities across the state, both rural and urban, have the technology necessary to participate in school and obtain access to essential resources.

ConnectedMN was created by founding partners Best Buy, Blandin Foundation, Comcast, Minnesota Business Partnership and Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan. Together. A number of other private and philanthropic organizations have contributed to the fund, raising $1.65 million to date.

When you give here, all contributions will be directed to local school districts, private learning institutions and nonprofit organizations dedicated connecting students with the technology they need to succeed.

One hundred percent of the funds received will be used to support the goals of ConnectedMN - no fees will be taken by the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation nor any of the program's founding partners for this work.
