Chloe Jean Museus was a force all her own. She lived, loved, and laughed with her entire soul. Chloe endured so much in her young life. Yet, she took on each medical procedure and seizure in stride with a smile on her face. On countless occasions, we were told of the limitations Chloe would face - each time, she proved them wrong. She learned to write, learned basic math, and just this summer, she learned how to swim independently. This was one of her proudest moments. Chloe’s favorite place to be was in and around water, she could spend hours just sitting by shore playing with toys and dumping water on the rocks by the shoreline. Her sister was helping to teach her how to float, the next challenge she wanted to conquer.

To know Chloe was to love her. She radiated joy, happiness, and a sense of humor that no one could match. She loved life, she loved her family, friends, teachers, school staff, and all of her pets. One of Chloe’s favorite programs was called The Unified Warriors. This program matched typically developing students with students with disabilities. They participated in activities throughout the entire school year. They played sports, did social activities, completed the Polar Plunge, and, most importantly, bonded. Chloe’s Unified Warrior partner and other Unified Warrior partners became her friends at Brainerd High School. They greeted her in the hallway, they cheered her on as she tried new things, and they loved her. The impact this program had on Chloe’s self-esteem was immeasurable.

In the end, while Chloe’s heart was filled with immense love for life, it was not able to endure. She died on June 29th, 2023. Chloe will be deeply missed for lifetimes to come.
