Timeless. That's how most UU campers view the special magic of place, program, families and staff that make up each program week throughout the summer and through the years. But time takes its toll on the camp as the years go by. Camp UniStar relies heavily on contributions to maintain the buildings, grounds and watercraft that support our weekly youth and family programs.
Over all of the decades, charitable gifts to Camp UniStar have enabled it to do what it does best: Foster among Unitarian Universalist youth, families, and staff a deep connection to one another and to the island. Weekly camper fees cover a majority of the cost to operate the camp but we depend on contributions for essentially all of our improvements to cabins, the lodge, kitchen, staff quarters and watercraft.
Week after week, summer after summer, we hear from campers both young and old about the transformative experiences that have happened because of Camp UniStar:
“UniStar is a glimpse of how our world could be. Needs are met in harmony with nature. Cooperation is pervasive and contagious. The educational programming is illuminating, motivating, and uplifting. The children and youth remember camp experiences throughout their lives and form friendships that are equally enduring.” — Camper
Please help this tradition of transforming lives continue. Your gift assures that the camp experience that began with our founding in 1961 continues to transform the lives of youth and families over the next 50 years.
Thank you!
