Help Us Get Our Food Truck Rolling to Feed More People and Empower Local Youth

We have the food truck — now we just need your help to bring it to life.

Youth Following Our Lead is a grassroots nonprofit in St. Cloud, MN dedicated to empowering youth and young adults through leadership development, life skills, and service to the community. One of our most powerful tools for change? A food truck with a mission.

We acquired a food truck with the vision of turning it into a mobile kitchen and job training hub for our youth — all while expanding our homeless meal program and feeding our community. But right now, the truck needs engine repairs and a full kitchen build-out before we can get rolling.

💛 Why This Matters

Many of the youth we serve have faced trauma, poverty, and limited opportunities — some are at risk of entering the criminal justice system, others are looking for a second chance. This food truck will do more than serve meals. It will:

• Provide hands-on job training in food service, customer service, and entrepreneurship

• Create real, paid work opportunities during the summer and after school

• Expand our homeless meal program by allowing us to serve hot meals at multiple locations

• Build confidence, leadership, and life skills in our youth through service to others

We’ve already been preparing and delivering meals out of a church kitchen to support a local nonprofit, Homeless Helping Homeless. But with a fully functioning food truck, we can serve so many more — and offer our youth something they can be proud to build and lead.

🛠️ What We Need

We already have the truck — now we need funding to:

• Repair the engine so it’s road-ready

• Build out the inside with a commercial grill, sink, refrigeration, prep areas, and storage

• Meet all health and safety regulations

• Add signage and branding so the community knows who we are and how to support us

Goal: $25,000

Every dollar will go directly toward getting this food truck on the road to serve our mission.
