Telling Stories. Opening Minds. Becoming Neighbors.
Green Card Voices (GCV) was born from the idea that the broad narrative of current immigrants should be communicated in a way true to each immigrant’s story. Green Card Voices seeks to be a new lens for those in the immigration dialogue.
GCV aspires to build a bridge between immigrants, non-immigrants, and advocates from across the country by sharing the first-hand immigration stories of foreign-born Americans, by helping us see the ‘wave of immigrants’ as individuals, with gifted stories of family, hard work, and cultural diversity.
Like many other non-profits, the Coronavirus pandemic has changed our usual ways of operating. For GCV, that meant an almost overnight drop in revenue from books and Story Stitch sales, exhibit rentals, speaking engagements at conferences, and fundraising opportunities. For a small non-profit like ours that is already a 30% decrease in our annual projected revenue.
But we didn’t pause or lose hope. We immediately went to work reimagining and co-creating all of our products and services, to find ways to make them accessible online and relevant to our time now.
Here's what we've been actively doing that greatly needs your support. Because we know, a united America working together, becoming neighbors is the winning storyline during COVID-19.
