$2,000 goal

Hey Everybody! I have had the pleasure to be involved with YAI for over 10 years! It’s a wonderful organization and it makes every single individual feel special. The community feeling there feels really close and personal, like a family. It helps kids strive in their passions and dreams, and it’s an awesome company to donate to.

Today I need Your Help! I have a personal goal of raising a minimum of $2,000 for this great cause. If 10 friends donate $200 then the goal is met and done. If you are saying you can donate more - GREAT! If you are in a place to give even $50-$200-$500-$1,000 - AWESOME! I need your help to see this company exist for another 17 years helping Minnesota youth! :)

Last Production Bio: Kendall Koll (Assistant Music Director / Intern) is excited to be doing her 13th YAI show, but this time, she’s on the artistic staff instead of acting! The most recent YAI shows she’s acted in was Mulan Jr as Hong and Annie as Sophie/Star To Be. She is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls studying Music Education-Vocal. She is currently a part of their Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus. She’s also been in 2 theatrical productions so far at her university, A Year with Frog and Toad as Mouse/Squirrel/Mole and Argonautika as Pollux. In the 2017/18 school year, she graduated from Open World Learning and was the Vice President of their music program and also directed a one act, CUT! for their theater program. She is very excited to be doing her first show as an assistant music director and has loved learning from Erica. She would like to thank Matt for the opportunity to do this show, as well as her family, best friends and her partner for believing in her!

MISSION

The mission of Young Artists Initiative (YAI) is to transform lives through theater! We do this by educating young theater artists through accessible, high quality performing arts programming offered in an inclusive community setting.

HISTORY

YAI grew out of a desire to provide excellent theater opportunities to young people whose economic situations may prevent them from accessing such creative endeavors. Our company does BIG work, and it is our mission and our level of quality that draws local artists and families to work with us.

Four qualities distinguish YAI from other youth performing groups: our commitment to kids – not just the production; our commitment to learning – including our board members, adult artists and youth; our commitment to excellence - creating high-quality artistic productions; and our undying passion for what we do.  This is why we’re still around for our 17th season.

YAI's organization thrives with our artistic staff and a committed group of volunteers— educators, artists, alumni parents, and community members — who continue to support and grow the work of YAI, carrying forward the mission of the organization and ensuring the highest quality experiences for the young artists in YAI’s charge.  Since its inception, YAI has produced more than 30 full-scale theatrical shows, including plays, musicals, and interactive theater.
