About the Academic Opportunity Gap
Minnesota students face one of the most severe academic opportunity gaps in the nation, and disparities between students of color and their white peers are even more stark in the Twin Cities.
In the Twin Cities, students of color experience gaps of more than 50 points in both 3rd Grade Reading and 8th Grade Math when compared to white students. Minnesota ranks last among all 50 states for Black and LatinX students who graduate high school on time. And the pandemic has only exacerbated education disparities in our state.
This Give to the Max Day, make a gift to support ACES's transformative afterschool programming for young learners in the Twin Cities' historically marginalized communities. Join us to tackle the academic opportunity gap and prepare Twin Cities students for success in school, career, and community!
