For the past four years, I’ve had the joy of serving on the Board of Directors at Theater Latté Da, as well as on the Development Committee and Gala Committee—and I even had the honor of serving as Gala Chair in both 2024 and 2025. It’s been one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.

I’ve always loved musical theater—even though I can’t act, sing, or dance to save my life; Supporting TLD lets me live a little vicariously and feel connected to the creativity and energy that only live theater can bring. I’ve watched the artists, staff, and volunteers pour their hearts into every show, and it’s impossible not to be inspired.

One of the reasons I care so deeply about Theater Latté Da is because inclusion and belonging truly guide everything the company does. From inclusive casting, affordable ticket programs, and ASL or captioned performances, to wheelchair-accessible and larger seating options—TLD works hard to make sure everyone feels welcome.

And their commitment to new stories is unmatched. They even completed the huge Next 25×25 campaign, developing 25 new shows by 2025—and they’re already setting their sights on creating even more original work in the years ahead.

But here’s the honest part: the need for support is real right now. Arts organizations everywhere are navigating cuts to arts grants, less government support, and slow recovery from the pandemic. Many audiences are only gradually returning to theaters, which means donations play an even bigger role in keeping this work alive.

That’s why I’m asking for your help.
