The Rose Johnson Memorial Fund

Rose Johnson was beloved by many for her keen mind and loving heart. She cared deeply for this community and advocated passionately for the marginalized and those who did not feel they had a place they fit in. From her position on the City Council to her volunteer work, she provided vital support and service.

Her loss is felt deeply by our community, those she helped, her friends, her family, and her long-time dear friends who called her a sister of the heart. At their request, we have set up this memorial fund to honor Rose and carry on the work she valued so highly and supported so lovingly.

Before The Wave Youth Center even opened our doors, Rose extended her support. Once open, she volunteered to assist the youth in our community, often engaging with them in games of Risk or Yahtzee and bantering with them. She was on our first grant writing team-- researching, creating templates, developing project summaries, and even submitting applications for grants. She was one of our biggest advocates in the community, and we are forever grateful. Our time together and conversations will be missed immensely.

In honor of Rose and her commitment to helping the youth as well as having fun with them, the funds raised will purchase a game table for the Youth Center, with additional funds used to support our mission
