The last 13 years of my career has been committed to the dismantling of systemic racism and oppression.  As a white woman in this work, I have learned an incredible amount of the increased barriers young people of color face in living self-sufficient lives. This needs to end. and its time we take real action. The emotional impact racism takes on our youth people, and our staff has been at it's all time high.  

The Link, its staff and the youth leaders work tirelessly to empower young people, and take control of their future. 

The two pandemics our nation has faced in 2020 has taken a significant toll on the culture of our work and the daily operations of our programming. Not being able to meet face to face with youth during quarantine, created it own barriers in meeting their increasingly high needs. In addition, the culture of racism at an all time high caused both staff and participants alike to feel a sense of hopelessness. Our nation is more disconnected than ever and its organizations like The Link who are working to bridge the gap. 

The Link has come together more than ever during this very difficult time. We have been working harder than ever to empower youth in a positive and productive manner.  It also caused us to spend funds at a more rapid pace. We are in high need to replenish and rebuild our culture. The Link is committed to the success of our youth and future. Any amount counts.
