Since 2013, MN350's Pipeline Resistance Team has sought to help reverse the climate crisis and bring about a more just world through mass movement work to stop fossil fuel infrastructure, especially the tar sands pipelines that cross our state.

No matter where we work, where we live, or the color of our skin, all Minnesotans deserve a stable climate and an environment that is not endangered by the catastrophic risks of a ruptured crude oil pipeline.

Unfortunately, Canadian oil pipeline giant Enbridge has other ideas, with multiple projects underway to expand and rebuild portions of the Mainline System, the massive pipeline network that extends from the tar sands in Alberta to global markets across Northern Minnesota's precious waters.

Our team is working to fight back.

Here's what we did in 2023 with your support:

The team built our capacity to show up strongly for the growing fight against Enbridge's Line 5 pipeline in Wisconsin and Michigan. We traveled to these frontlines on multiple group trips, and organized a coach bus to Bismarck, ND to support the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Tribes in their ongoing work against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). 

We continued to support Line 3 defendants and saw many water protector cases dismissed, including all remaining charges from the Fire Light Encampment which blocked construction of Line 3 at the Mississippi River for eight days in 2021. 

We engaged with state policy at the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board and the state legislature, advocating changes to make future pipeline projects here less likely. 

We met new supporters and built a larger base at many tabling and outreach events. In addition, we worked nationwide with allied 350.org local groups to support the People vs. Fossil Fuels coalition, organizing local events and helping with national coordination for weeks of action.
