COVID-19 is hitting many in Woodbury hard. Let's all chip in to help out!

$1,000 goal

The Woodbury Community Foundation has created a COVID-19 Emergency Grant Program to help those non-profits serving those in our community who have been disadvantaged by the pandemic. The food shelves and school food programs have seen their needs multiply overnight. Our mental health providers are investing in new technology to serve their clients in a time of social distance and isolation (mental illness doesn't take a vacation during a pandemic; in fact, the demand increases!). The YMCA and others are stepping forward to assist with child care as essential workers suddenly find they need child care as the schools have closed.

We're all feeling put out by the sacrifices we've had to make with the pandemic, but for most of us the sacrifices are miniscule compared to those who are without work or who suddenly face new costs of living with child care and meals that would otherwise be provided by employers or schools.

It's time we all stood up to help out. Join me in contributing to the Woodbury Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Grant Program. The WCF Board is receiving grant requests as we speak and will continue to review new requests as the pandemic continues. The need is great in Woodbury. Whatever you can give - be it $10 or $500 - will make a difference. (Yes, it's tax deductible.) Take action now. I think we can generate $1,000 for the cause in the next two weeks!
