At P+P tax season will be different, but there will still be free tax preparation. Let's do it.

2020, huh? It's been a really weird year.

You know it.

I know it.

We feel it together.

It's gearing up to be a weird 2021 too, and one thing that means for me is a tax season like no other.

That starts with my new office space (Hey Biscuit-cat! That's my chair):

a laptop on a small table. setting is a porch.

a cat on a wooden chair in front of a table with a laptop

Tax preparation looks like a Zoom call where we "shuffling" digital files and do as much tech troubleshooting as we do tax prep. When we need be together, like on the July 15th Tax Day, we still need to be far apart...

Even though tax season can't be what it always has been, Prepare + Prosper is making plans to continue its 50 year history of providing free tax and financial services. Our impact is still strong and we're adapting our services to be distanced and virtual. In 2020 we didn't see our usual 12k+ taxpayers, but we were still able to reach 7k+. We didn't help people claim $24+ million in tax refunds, but we were still able to assist with $17+ million. Our coaching cohorts have continued strong (but virutally), and we've connected hundreds with new banking products.

It's going to be a

tax season like no other.

You can help make it happen, by making a donation to

Prepare + Prosper for Give to the Max Day.

  • Donations will be matched thanks to a generous group of our donors and volunteers.
  • Our goal is $100,000. Our matching fund is $43,400.
  • All gifts of $100+ or $10 per month will get a limited-edition “Get Your Geek On” deck of cards featuring our volunteers, donors, and customers showcasing their inner geek.
