We are seeking your assistance raising funds to assist Micro-Businesses and Gig Workers in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. This group amongst many have had their lives and economic stability interrupted by the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19. Micro-Businesses and Gig Workers rely on the support of their servicing community to survive and meet day to day needs. Without being able to operate their businesses they are at risk of hardship without a governmental bailout.
In the wake of COVID-19 many Americans have been forced to cease operations of their business to comply with shelter in place orders by the Governor. Although the federal and state governments are working hard to be inclusive of all families in America there is still yet a group not included. This group would be some micro-businesses and some gig workers.
These workers tend to accept revenue in a high volume of cash on a daily basis, lack good record keeping or appointment scheduling, and not a regularly scheduled bank depositor. Yes, I am talking about your hair braider, beautician, barber, nail tech, skin tech, eyelash tech, physical trainer, dance instructor, seamstress, cake baker, and the list continues. Many of these workers will not qualify or fit the criteria for receipt of the relief grants or loans nor the unemployment benefits.
