"Four Humors has a long reputation for taking risks and delivering quality, thought-provoking comedy." - MN Playlist

“Everyone in town is well aware that Four Humors can do humor and do it well. What [this show] continues to reveal… is just how smart and how critical that sense of humor is.” - l’etoile Magazine

“This company again demonstrates the ability to create smartly subversive stagings that also manage to be very funny.” - City Pages

“An endlessly ingenious production that… deconstructs [the] source material to wonderfully comic effect.” -  Star Tribune

Four Humors has created engaging and celebrated original theatrical works in the Twin Cities since 2005. The company focuses on collaboratively devised original works and has grown to be a well-respected part of the local small-budget theater community. They have produced consistently-praised artistic work while using their creative, administrative, and production experience to create paid opportunities for hundreds of artists during the company’s lifetime.

During the past 14 years, Four Humors has produced 27 original productions, 3 pre-existing works, numerous remounts of its successful original content, two years of a monthly cabaret, and several award-winning video shorts. In 2014, Four Humors was awarded “Best Theater for Comedy.” by the Star Tribune for its critically acclaimed production of "Lolita: A Three Man Show" and made several other year-end “Best of” theater lists including in City Pages, Lavender, and Minnesota Playlist. The company has also created ambitious, community-wide, artist support programs that have grown beyond the company itself. In 2012 Four Humors founded the Twin Cities Horror Festival, an eleven-day, live performance festival featuring original works in theater, dance, music, and film, now operating as its own 501c3 which supports hundreds of artists each year.  In 2018, Four Humors founded the tremendously well-received MN Theater Awards, a program designed to celebrate, elevate, and bring together the MN Theater Community which City Pages called the “awards show we need right now.”

In 2019, the company created two new works, produced the second year of a community theater celebration event, and continued its mission to "create art that celebrates the humor, stupidity, and beauty of our world by letting the artist connect with the audience in a vulnerable and honest way."
