Our school community values the arts, and we are committed to making sure that EVERY Chelsea Heights student has enriching and culturally diverse art and music programming EVERY year!
Budget cuts have reduced music and art instruction throughout SPPS. Last year, our community rallied to bring an amazing variety of art and music experiences to our kids-we were even featured on Kare11!
We need your help to keep the momentum going!
Your donations in the 2025-26 school year will support incredible partnerships, including:
- The award-winning ArtStart program will bring students an artistic residency experience focused on collaboration, conservation, and creativity;
 Saint Paul teaching artist Broderick Poole will join students again this year to help them express themselves through art that is meaningful to them;
Now.Make.Art will return for a brand new school-wide collaborative project to be showcased this winter;
National touring organization Opera for the Young will engage our students in a fun musical journey and live performance!
We are also working with other local artists, non-profit organizations, and educational partners to help us fill the calendar with a wide range of art and music experiences.
Here’s how you can help!
1. Donate! We are using volunteers and free programs where possible, and have applied for grant funding. Still, the costs for these experiences will add up. Our existing commitments total $17,500 and we need our community's help to be able to offer these and other programs!
2. Volunteer! Are you artistic? Musical? Have an idea or want to help out? Contact the PTO at chelseaheightspto@gmail.com.
3. Advocate! Contact the school board and district leadership and let them know art and music are important for EVERY student at EVERY school.
Let's come together to support Chelsea Heights kids!
